The best of this week according to me…

blank-book This first one is sad.

Awesome indie bookstore “Stacey’s Perishes, But There Are Others” (Muni Diaries)

I recently wrote about the one thing than makes London suck (NO, nada, zero, none, gone are their independent bookstores!) Do not let this happen to us, SF!

Muni Diaries recommends Green Apple Books (which is awesome) and I’ll add: City Lights, Books Inc., Moe’s (in Berkeley), Booksmith, Modern Times Bookstore and Russian Hill Bookstore.

More papery items: Awesome Paper Animation Video! (Paper Forest)

*

And more lit’ry items: Journey to the Heart of the Gurlesque (Belladodie). Poet and general all around badass Dodie Bellamy invites us into a smaller, but important school of poetry and gives us the inside scoop on the recent MLA conference. Excellent stuff. Also check out Flarf Q & A with K. Silem Mohammad ({LIME TREE}). It’s actually mostly helpful in understanding this little movement o’ poets, but yes, still funny. It’s KSM for chrissakes.

Finally, here are my recommendations for information regarding the Oscar Grant killing and following riots:

Finally, finally, just in case you forgot how absolutely stunning the Bay Area is…
