Mom’s Nantucket Clam Chowder

Melt 8 oz. bar of cream cheese, mix in 1/2 c. chopped scallions, 1 tsp. old bay seasoning*, salt, pepper. 1/2 lb. crispy bacon, minced. Add 1 cup cooked corn (drained), 3 cups clams (with juice). Add 6 potatoes (boiled and diced) and 1/2 pint half & half cream. Refrigerate overnight. Add the other 1/2 of the cream when heating up and enjoy.

* celery salt, bay leaf, mustard seed, black & red pepper, cinnamon, ginger
